31 Bible Verses About Loving Others

One of the recurring themes in the New Testament is about loving others. Jesus emphasized the importance of loving our neighbors. Not only did he talk about it, but Jesus also lived it and left us this example to follow. It’s not sufficient to just love our family and friends but also our enemies. Sometimes this is not easy but it’s what sets us apart from the world and makes more like Jesus.

Scripture proclaims that the greatest commandment is to love our neighbors. Here are 31 verses about loving others to help you fulfill the law of love.

Romans 13:8

“Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

Matthew 5:43-48

“Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; that ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
