30 Verses to Help You Overcome Anxiety

Anxiety is a very real mental problem many of us struggle with. I know how hindering and stressful anxiety can become in our daily lives. It makes even the most simple tasks incredibly difficult and mentally draining. I know, because I’ve struggled with anxiety my entire life. Whether you have generalized or social anxiety, I want you to know that we can be set free! The Bible addresses anxiety in many places and I want to share with you a couple of verses I pray and hope will help you in the fight against the anxiety that plagues you. Here are 30 verses to help you overcome anxiety.

Philippians 4:6-7

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Matthew 11:28-30

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

John 14:27

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Proverbs 12:25

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

Psalm 118:6-7

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? The Lord taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.”
